Vegan Pal 2: Questionnaire

I'm late as usual but here it is, finally.

1. What is/are your craft(s), & how long have you been doing it/them?
   I knit and crochet. Like all little girls (at least in Finland), I learned to knit and crochet in school. I wasn’t very good at it but I liked it. My mom is also really crafty and I always had wonderful hand-knitted clothes. From time to time she tried to teach me to knit but I couldn’t concentrate enough and I would get really frustrated. Last year I got interested in knitting again and started my own knitting blog.
2. Are you a vegan, vegetarian, veg-curious, veg-friendly or other?
   I’m a vegetarian or “home vegan” as we say here in Finland, which means that at home I make and eat vegan food but elsewhere I might eat something with cheese or milk in it.
3. Is this your first swap, or have you done previous swaps before? What makes a swap enjoyable for you?
   Yes, this is my first swap. Exciting! I don’t really know yet if this is something I like, just sounded like a lot of fun. I like giving gifts, it’s such fun to put together a cool present for someone else.
4. What is/are your favorite color(s)? Do you particularly dislike any color(s)?
   I can’t say that I hate a certain color. If I have to pick one, it’s lilac. For some reason I have no clothes or other stuff in that color. I like strong, spicy colors like oranges and reds. At the moment I also like bright green and dark purple.
5. Do you have any allergies (such as pets, foods, fibers or cigarette smoke)?
   I’m a bit allergic to cats, dogs and horses but that doesn’t stop me from playing with my parents two cats. I love cats, we always had those lovely furballs when I was a kid.
6. Do you have any companion animals? If so, name(s) and type(s)?
   Yes, I have two mini-lop bunnies, Tessa and Myntti. I was pretty bummed when I learned that I was allergic to cats. My boyfriend suggested that we could have a bunny. I wasn’t really exited because I didn’t know anything about bunnies, they sounded a bit boring. Still I started reading about pet bunnies and got interested.
7. Do you collect anything?
   I guess you could say I collect ”bunny stuff”. Not carrots and timothy hay :D but cute, fun stuff with a bunny motif.
8. Do you have a favorite vegan food, snack or dish? If no fav that's vegan (for those who aren't vegan), what's your favorite food? (Hopefully your pal can find a vegan version!)
   I like sweets. Chocolate is my favourite. I also like dried fruits, nuts and seeds. My favourite food is pasta. All kinds of pasta dishes.
9. What are some of your favorite/least favorite tastes/flavors? (e.g. sweet, salty, chocolate, crunchy, smooth, tart, sour, spicy, thai, whatever - Help your pal get a feel for what kind of recipes you might like and/or never ever make.)
   Hard to say what I don’t like. When I became vegetarian I started trying new things and now I eat almost anything (not meat, obviously). I like sweet and salty and also those two put together. One veggie food that I don’t like is seitan but I’m working on that. I love tofu.
10. What tools/supplies/accessories for your craft(s) are you wishing you had but don't? Also, what do you have TOO many of? (basically a wish and anti-wish list)
    I don’t have much knitting stuff, some needles and a measuring tape. I would like to own clip-on stitch markers, needle holders, row counters, scissors, stitch holders or blocking pins.
11. Are you on Ravelry? What's your handle?
    Nope, had to google it to find out what that was :D
12. Is there anything else you would like your pal to know about you?
    Well, I live in Finland and sending stuff might be a bit tricky. The stuff (mostly yarn from online yarn stores) I order from the US tends to get stuck in Customs, which sucks. I will find out what you need to do so there will not be any problems with the package.
13. What scents do you like/dislike?
    I like the smell of coffee, baked goods, vanilla… hard to say what smells I hate (excluding the bad smells like cigarette smoke). I even like the "fake" smells like in scented candles.
14. Do you prefer fall or Halloween or some other Autumn theme?
    Both themes sound great, so if you have some super ideas already, go with it. Halloween sounds fun because we don’t celebrate that in Finland. Then again, Autumn colours like warm yellows, browns and oranges will probably be easier to use.
15. Just for fun - tell your favorite Halloween or Autumn related memory.
    Well, Halloween isn’t a big deal around here, though it sounds like fun. There’s this one autumn thing that comes in mind. I was born on 14 August (yeah, just had my birthday a while ago, yay me!). My mom told me that I have always liked autumn. When it was really wet, stormy and windy, I always wanted to go out and play :)
