Greetings from London

Merry Christmas to everyone! Hope you have had a nice time. Me and the boyfriend spent a weekend in London a week ago. It was very lovely, our first vacation together outside Finland. I have never been on a city holiday but this was so much fun that I will have to do this again some time. The time was probably not the best possible one (just before Christmas, lots of people, nothing on sale) but then again, can it ever be a bad time to visit London? After all… it’s London. Yay!

We arrived on Friday and made our way to the hotel. I chose the Lincoln House due to the good location and the veggie breakfast. And it really was a great hotel, though I was a bit nervous because there are some not so good reviews of the hotel on Tripadvisor. Mostly people have criticised the small rooms but I felt that the room was very cosy and nice. No complaints here, I guess it’s what one is used to. The staff was also very friendly.

Naturally we did not have the time to see everything. We concentrated mostly on shopping Christmas presents and walking around wondering and taking photos. We ate good vegetarian/vegan food at Mildred’s and RedVeg, which I can recommend to anyone visiting London. In the beginning of the trip I decided that my yarn collection is big enough and therefore did no yarn shopping whatsoever.

Sunday was our last day in London and it turned out a bit more chaotic that I had imagined. Our flight was cancelled as there was something wrong with the plane and we actually ended up staying for one night more in an airport hotel (where a room costs 1,5 time the room at Lincoln House) on the courtesy of British Airways. They were able to get us new flight through Stockholm and eventually we arrived back home in the afternoon on Monday. All in all, I am very pleased and happy even though our return turned into a little adventure. And we will definitely be back in London some day.
