FO: Henley Perfected

The famous Henley Perfected is finally mine! And it fits really well. I actually never fell in love with the pattern, just though that it was ok. Yet I decided to make it... and it was totally worth all the effort. Such a wearable sweater, I've worn it several times to work.

The yarn is a bamboo-cotton blend so it's really soft. Bamboo makes this yarn lighter compared to a 100% cotton yarn, so I felt that it was a great substitute to the alpaca-silk blend that was suggested in the pattern. It was a bit of pain to knit with but the texture of the finished garment is so smooth and soft that it's worth trying.

So... what else is happening here? When it comes to knitting, I'm doing some serious multitasking. I have so many things on my knitting list that it's really hard to decide which one to focus on. For example, I've started the Silken Scabbard, a beautiful, new pattern from Stitch Diva, as well as the Tyrolean Cardigan from Sarah Dallas' Vintage Knits book. The Silken Scabbard requires a pretty stretchy yarn, so I'm frogging my Rowan Calmer that was going to be the Foxglove Cardigan from a Rowan magazine. For the Tyrolean Cardigan, I'm using Phildar's Tribord that is a cotton/acrylic blend. I'm also swatching my stash just for the heck of it. In addition to all the knitting craziness, I'm also going to be extremely busy at work so it's interesting to see if I get anything done this fall/winter. I'm not promising anything! :D

Now...this is what you've been up to! I guess I should check your Ravelry profile more often, instead of just visiting the same groups over and over ;-)
A bamboo-cotton yarn is a perfect substitution for silk - the shiny texture of the bamboo will do the trick, and even if the majority is done in stockinette, when the yarn just flies off the needles like with bamboo it is well worth the monotony (and it does look pretty!).
Now I am looking forward to seeing pics of your WIPs...and of course pictures of the bunneeeesss!!!! :)

What a lovely sweater! It fits you perfectly! I also have the Vintage Knits book. I haven't made anything from it yet but love all of the patterns in it.

Thanks everyone. I'm really pleased with the sweater myself. I've noticed that getting something finished really motivates me to start new projects.
